“My obsession with time and the aging process has been a recurring theme in my work for the past decade. This preoccupation has fueled my interest in non-traditional processes and materials in order to further examine the relationship between the natural and the man made. I incorporate non-precious metals with natural and found objects as well as elements based on industrial and anatomical forms. Manipulation and subversion of these materials results in forms saturated with tension. Repetition of elements produces mass, an outcome that can be both seductive and chaotic. Fabrication and electro forming permit the cultivation of new forms, while various surface enhancements influence the concepts of the work. Continual investigation of new processes and mediums are what compel, stimulate and challenge my creative process.”

red dot online: design concept – winners 2006.
“The Love Mattress offers a simple solution to the limp arms that often follow a lovers’ embrace.
Embracing is a magical human behaviour, and one that distinguishes us from other animals. A loving embrace, especially between partners, is one of the most calming actions. Embracing, and bodily proximity and connection after lovemaking, are very important for strengthening relationships. However, what usually stops this pleasant state is not mental tiredness; it is physical weakness…
The Love Mattress offers partners a simple yet effective position for embracing. This mattress allows you to hug your loved one intimately without any wrist or arm weakness. The assembled mattress has the same dimensions as other mattresses, with the added advantage that you can make a gap between joined parts. Your arm and shoulder can occupy the gaps when you are lying on your side. In other lying styles, you can easily find your most comfortable position. For example, if you are lying on your tummy, your foot can project comfortably into the mattress. Anatomical research supports the claim that The Love Mattress provides greater comfort than existing mattresses.”

“The Sorted Books project began in 1993 years ago and is ongoing. The project has taken place in many different places over the years, ranging form private homes to specialized public book collections. The process is the same in every case: culling through a collection of books, pulling particular titles, and eventually grouping the books into clusters so that the titles can be read in sequence, from top to bottom. The final results are shown either as photographs of the book clusters or as the actual stacks themselves, shown on the shelves of the library they were drawn from. Taken as a whole, the clusters from each sorting aim to examine that particular library’s focus, idiosyncrasies, and inconsistencies — a cross-section of that library’s holdings. At present, the Sorted Books project comprises more than 130 book clusters.”

Gumball Charm Bracelet
“Bring back the wonder of childhood innocence and dreams with this
colorful and delightful one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry–and history! I
hand fabricated the sterling silver bracelet (soldered links) and added
each magical tidbit of childhood, specifically seeking out highly
collectible and hard-to-find mechanical charms made in Hong Kong during
the 1950′s and 60′s. You’ll see a working whistle, compass, mirror,
hour glass and magnifying glass; 3 dexterity games; a turning apple
that reveals a worm; a push-button clown; an eskimo, bunny and green
monster with pop-out eyes; a bobble head turtle; a blinking eye; a
puzzle boat; a bible with secret viewer of the Lord’s Prayer; a flicker
clock; a dog popping out of a dog house; a gun that comes out of its
holster; a skate with moving wheels and a 1940′s sterling silver moving
fan. Highly sought after are the retractable box cutter and pop-out
eyed bunny that are hallmarked PK for the Penny King company. I’ve also
included several celluloid cracker jack charms of the 1920′s and 30′s.
When
you wear these childhood talismans on your wrist, you will delight not
only yourself but all around you! As these are antiques, you should
wear the bracelet with care to protect its heirloom status.” -Kim Noguiera

the muttering provides a sterling silver platform for all kinds
of cheap massproduced elements, which can be screwed onto
the ring and which you can replace:
just choose from three different ballknobs/ black and dark red/
or two girl’s and two boy’s heads, which we have on offer.
see what they look like on the pictures above and below.
just as well you are welcome to bring your own favourite
plastic pieces and we’ll provide it with a sterling silver worm
for you to put it on the ring.”Title Quote: Kerri Russel
