Katherine Wardropper

“3D Textile Designer Katherine Wardropper is an emerging talent who is making her name for her highly intricate and unusual approach to design.

Using a developed ‘Sculptural Fabric Technique’ and the search to conjure up a sense of the ‘marvellous’ and ‘extraordinary’ into everyday life, Katherine carefully hand constructs 3D patterns to create both decorative ‘Wearable Art’ and ‘Sculpture’ pieces.

Fairytales, fantasy and costume design are main inspirations which help form the basis of Katherine’s work. Her recent ‘Sculptural Fabric Jewellery’ are of reminiscent of swirling wedding cakes, Victorian lace and bejewelled snowflakes. Reversing the colours to dark greys and blacks see the somber austire reflections of Elizabethan ruffles and grand dame collars worn by gothic ‘Empresses’.”
