Sfera presents its latest creation: a new range of HIGASHI (sweets).

Sfera has designed a range of products to cater for the entire lifestyle sphere. That is, items relating to fashion, food and living, as well as to sound, space and environment. In addition to products ranging from furniture to kimono design, Sfera has designed exhibition spaces for the Milano Salone, along with various events.

The latest HIGASHI project sees Sfera creating for the first time a product based on food. Blessed with the full cooperation of Kyoto’s Kagizen Yoshifusa, Sfera has based its HIGASHI on a form that is both appropriate and sensitive in its representation of Japanese culture, tradition and aesthetic values, also summing up the beauty associated with the four seasons. Combining the techniques handed down through generations of local craftspeople with the talents of current designers from abroad presented a considerable challenge.

Following a tradition of expressing the changes in season whilst at the same time pursuing new discoveries, Sfera used as a source of inspiration the keywords “nature” and “to sense the four seasons”. Three years on, and after much trial and error, Sfera has arrived at monet. The shape represents the floating form of a lotus flower. Just like the lasting impression the flower leaves as it gently wavers on the surface of the water, you can enjoy the monet’s graceful and soft forms combined with the manner in which it melts on the tongue.”
